Jay Kenney

Jay Kenney was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1963 and grew up in northern Wisconsin. Music became a big part of his life at an early age, and he began his formal music education at age 7 when he received a recorder for Christmas. It was also during this time that tape recorders and recording became an obsession. In elementary school, Jay studied violin, cello, and eventually started playing piano and acoustic bass. He majored in classical piano performance at the University of Wisconsin, Superior.

Jay started playing keyboards professionally while still in high school. Jay moved to Seattle in 1984, and calls the Emerald City home. After playing for another 5 years in the number one Top 40 band Boy Toy, he branched out and started to arrange and produce music for vocalists and songwriters while honing his technical chops in music retail.

He founded Audio Logic Studio in 1993. He has also worked at Microsoft, composing and producing music for MSN, Paramount Studios, Disney and Entertainment Tonight. Jay worked for 6 years doing live television production at KCPQ-TV, Seattle's FOX affiliate. He also taught Digital Music and Audio Engineering at Edmonds Community College. Currently, Jay devotes his full time to Audio Logic producing, engineering, and playing, as well as acting as a consultant for Yamaha Corporation of America/Steinberg Media Technologies. In his spare time, Jay enjoys sailing, camping and playing music.
